We developed the CommonGoods economic networking platform with the dream of completely reshaping the economy for the benefit of workers, consumers, and the environment. But we need your help to make this vision into a reality. Here are some important ways that you can help out:

Add businesses. It's easy to create business profiles on CommonGoods.net for your employer, home business, or local places where you shop. First search for the business to make sure it is not already on our system; including the city & state, or the zip code. If you don't see the business in the search results, click on the link at the bottom of the results to add it to our system. Then follow the prompts. Don't forget to add tags so other users can find your business.

Rate businesses. Give us the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let other users know which businesses offer good value to consumers and fair pay for workers without harming the environment. If you list yourself as an employee of a business, you can rate it anonymously to protect your identity. Don't worry if you don't know everything about a business, just leave your experiences. As we promote the website, other users will fill in the blanks.

Search for businesses. This is where the rubber hits the road. If you are thinking about buying a product or service, check CommonGoods.net to see which businesses offer what you're looking for while truly contributing to a better world for all of us. CommonGoods.net helps us take control of the "free-market" by helping us find the businesses that really deserve our dollars, and avoiding those that funnel all the profits to the owners by short-changing workers, consumers, and the environment. When we use CommonGoods to look for goods and services to buy, we are beginning to reshape society for the benefit of all.

Get informed. Ask the businesses you support about their environmental impact and how well they pay their employees. It's your money you're spending, you deserve to know what kind of a world you're buying with it. When businesses see that you are concerned about these things, they are more likely to make improvements. Go ahead and tell them that people are talking about them on CommonGoods and let them know that they can join the conversation. Don't forget to rate businesses after talking to them to let other users know what you find out.

Get connected. Join us on Facebook and Twitter. Keep updated on our growth. Let us know what you like about CommonGoods and give us suggestions for future improvements.

Spread the word. We need your help to grow our community. Email your friends to get them to join up, blog about us, or write letters to the editor in you local paper. Most importantly we need links pointing to our site so that CommonGoods business profiles will show up in Google search results. Please consider linking our homepage or your favorite CommonGoods business profile on your website or blog.

Donate. Our staff is working hard to promote CommonGoods Network's vision for a fair economy and a sustainable world. Our work is a labor of love, but we still need to eat and pay rent and website server fees. We have built this website on a shoestring budget and we can't grow without your support. Your generosity is critical to the success of our vision.

Volunteer. Have some skills that you want to put to use? We're always looking for help. Shoot us a message on the contact page. Right now we're especially looking for Django/Python developers, grant writers, bloggers, and media relations specialists.
